Purchase Proxy Guide

Purchase a Decodo residential proxy

This walkthrough takes you from a signed-in decodo.com account to a working proxy credential you can paste into AssumeIP.

1

Step 1

Open the Residential dashboard

Sign in at decodo.com — you land on dashboard.decodo.com. In the left side panel, click Residential.

2

Step 2

Pick a plan and pay

Inside the Residential page, open the Pricing tab and select the plan that fits — Decodo bills residential traffic per GB. Complete the payment; your traffic balance activates once it clears.

3

Step 3

Configure Proxy Setup

Back on the Residential page, click Proxy Setup and set the fields:

  • Location: Country United States, State California, City Los Angeles — use the search box or the Type filters (Continent / Country / State / City)
  • Session type: Sticky, 60 min — the exit IP stays the same for up to 60 minutes, then rotates
  • Protocol: SOCKS5
  • Endpoints: 2 — how many connection lines the generator produces below; a single line is enough for AssumeIP
4

Step 4

Copy the credential from the curl command

At the bottom of the page, copy the generated curl command line and read the four values out of it:

  • Host: gate.decodo.com
  • Port: 10000
  • Username: e.g. user-spm618ewer-session-1-sessionduration-60-city-los_angeles — your session settings are baked into it, so use the whole string exactly
  • Password: the value after the colon in the -U "username:password" part

Each endpoint row carries its own session number (session-1, session-2, …) and each session pins a different exit IP. Save the four values — next, add them in AssumeIP.

Then add it to AssumeIP

Open AssumeIP, add a new destination, and paste the four values: proxy server, port, username and password. AssumeIP tests the connection and shows you its exit IP and country, so you know it works before you rely on it.

Tip

With Decodo, gate.decodo.com is a gateway address, not your final IP. The exit IP is assigned per session and holds for your chosen sticky duration (60 minutes in this guide), then rotates.

What the credential looks like
Host: gate.decodo.com
Port: 10000
Username: user-spm******-session-1-sessionduration-60-city-los_angeles
Password: ***************

Sample values only, with the username and password masked — yours will differ.
